During the game, your dice provide the resources you need, but throughout the game, you’ll change your dice, snapping new faces on and improving your chances of claiming victory. When the gods call an end to your contest, the player with the most glory wins the game. The box contains:

  • Temple board
  • Island board
  • 96 cards
  • Round tracker
  • 8 dice and 108 die faces
  • 4 hero inventories and four hero pawns
  • 20 resource markers
  • 25 tokens
  • Rules

A real-time observation game based on the psychological Stroop Effect, which is a phenomenon caused by different functions of the brain interfering with one another. The cards in Stroop each display a single word. The words are printed in several colors (black, red, blue, and yellow), sizes (big and little), and styles (hollow and solid), and they have different numbers of letters (three, four, five, and six). The challenge is to read one word and quickly match it with the description of another word — without regard to what the second word says. Round one players are dealt an equal number of cards, and a card is turned face-up in the center of the table, forming the base of a pile. Players then race to find a card in their deck that the center card describes, and place this on top of the pile, changing the center card. Play continues until one player runs out of cards. Round two is the exact except that the rule for eligible cards to play is reversed: now a card may be played only if its text describes the qualities of the card in the center. The player with the fewest cards remaining wins.

Near and Far

A sequel to Above and Below, four wanderers search for the Last Ruin, a city that legends say contains an artifact that will grant the greatest desires of the heart. You must collect food and equipment at town for long journeys to mysterious locales, making sure not to forget enough weapons to fight off bandits, living statues, and rusty robots! Sometimes in your travels you’ll run into something unique and one of your friends will read what happens to you from a book of stories, giving you a choice of how to react, creating a new and memorable tale each time you play.

Board Games

The land of Ethnos contains twelve tribes of fantasy creatures, and in each game you choose 6 of them , 5 in a 2/3 player game, then create a deck using only those creatures in those tribes. The cards come in six colors, which match the six regions of Ethnos. Place three glory tokens in each region, arranging them from low to high. Each player starts with one card in hand, the 4-12 cards are placed face up in front of you. On a turn, a player will recruit an ally or play a band of allies. In the former case, you take a face-up card (without replacing it from the deck) or the top card of the deck and add it to your hand. In the latter case, you choose a set of cards in your hand that match either in tribe or in color, play them in front of you on the table, then discard all other cards in hand. You then place one or more tokens in the region that matches the color of the top card just played, and you use the power of the tribe member on the top card just played. The player with the most glory tokens wins!

Over the course of 8 rounds, build the best theme park whatever it takes! You can combine your favorite themes from pirates, ninjas, robots, and many more. Watch out though, competitors may pay off the safety inspectors to close your rides or hire hooligans to vandalize your park! You can play event cards to help yourself or hinder your opponents, building and upgrading using park cards, and match your park to blueprints. Your goal is to build the highest-scoring park at game end by either: matching your park to the blueprints, build tall attractions with lots of upgrades, or old fashion cash.

You belong to a group of dwarves who just discovered a new mine on their land, and in the excitement of the discovery, you make a bet. Everyone will explore the mine for five days. At the end of each day, you will sell in the city the crystals you extracted during this day. At the end of the fifth day, the dwarf who earned the most money will become the only owner of the mine, the winner. Each turn a player has three actions: extract a crystal (pull a crystal from the bag), play a card that either aids you or hinders your opponents, and leave the mine and cash in. This is new to us.

Board and Card Games

Players compete to build palaces, torii, and their own buildings in the land of Yamatai. The land has five entryways, and you must start from these points or place adjacent to ships already on the board. To build, the land must have colored ships around it that match the ships shown on one of the available building tiles. If you build a personal building that’s connected to others you own, you receive money equal to the number of buildings. You can use any three resources or a pair of matching resources that you have picked up from a land to purchase a specialist, each of whom has a unique power. Once you trigger one of the game-ending conditions, no ships of one color or no more specialists, you finish the round. Now count points for buildings built, specialists hired, and money on hand, and the player with the most points wins.
