Check out this week’s new releases at Jupiter Games!
The land of Ethnos contains twelve tribes of fantasy creatures, and in each game you choose 6 of them , 5 in a 2/3 player game, then create a deck using only those creatures in those tribes. The cards come in six colors, which match the six regions of Ethnos. Place three glory tokens in each region, arranging them from low to high. Each player starts with one card in hand, the 4-12 cards are placed face up in front of you. On a turn, a player will recruit an ally or play a band of allies. In the former case, you take a face-up card (without replacing it from the deck) or the top card of the deck and add it to your hand. In the latter case, you choose a set of cards in your hand that match either in tribe or in color, play them in front of you on the table, then discard all other cards in hand. You then place one or more tokens in the region that matches the color of the top card just played, and you use the power of the tribe member on the top card just played. The player with the most glory tokens wins!
Over the course of 8 rounds, build the best theme park whatever it takes! You can combine your favorite themes from pirates, ninjas, robots, and many more. Watch out though, competitors may pay off the safety inspectors to close your rides or hire hooligans to vandalize your park! You can play event cards to help yourself or hinder your opponents, building and upgrading using park cards, and match your park to blueprints. Your goal is to build the highest-scoring park at game end by either: matching your park to the blueprints, build tall attractions with lots of upgrades, or old fashion cash.
You belong to a group of dwarves who just discovered a new mine on their land, and in the excitement of the discovery, you make a bet. Everyone will explore the mine for five days. At the end of each day, you will sell in the city the crystals you extracted during this day. At the end of the fifth day, the dwarf who earned the most money will become the only owner of the mine, the winner. Each turn a player has three actions: extract a crystal (pull a crystal from the bag), play a card that either aids you or hinders your opponents, and leave the mine and cash in. This is new to us.
You are a dalek invading Earth to EXTERMINATE the humans! Each turn, you roll the 10 custom dice. The number of humans you roll is how many points you’ll earn at the end of the turn, but only if you roll as many dalek dice. You can push your luck and re-roll some of the dice to try to roll more Humans or more Daleks, but all the time you must be careful not to roll too many Doctor symbols – if you accumulate too many you’ll lose the game and score nothing! This is new to us.
Based on the award-winning TV show, Batman: The Animated Series Dice Game’ lets you become a Super-Villain in a press-your-luck game for the whole family. Roll the dice and take advantage of each villain’s diabolical abilities to scheme your way to victory before getting busted by Batman! This is new to us.
Spoils of War
The raid is over, and the victorious Vikings gather in the chieftain’s tent to divide the spoils of war! Each round, 3-5 players roll dice, the cleverly bluff and bet to outwit their fellow Vikings. The winners of each round gets to claim the fantastic treasures to add to their collection. No one knows who will win until the last treasure is claimed and the spoils are counted!
Help Purrrlock get closer to the bewhiskered baddie that’s been bullying all of Baker Street! Each player draws a hidden suspect card. Payers take turn making guesses using a “clock” mechanism about their unknown suspect’s identity. Figure out enough leads to deduce the suspect’s identity, and you get to snag a clue that leads to Furriarty. Each clue is labeled with a variable number of victory points. Every round, Furriarty pads his way closer to escape, putting tension on the players to guess to solve the case. If you can deduce enough suspects and collect enough paw print tokens, you may be able to overtake Furriarty before he scrams.
